not specifically an adoption quote but i love it as a source of strength for us birthmothers who have to deal with the loss after the empowering experience of giving birth!

"Babies are bits of stardust blown from the hand of God. Lucky the woman who knows the pangs of birth for she has held a star."

-Larry Barretto
The deepest losses offer the widest openings for us to receive the miracles in our midst. ~Tami Lynn Kent
"This may not be the answer for another girl like me, but I'm not on a soapbox saying how we all should be. I'm just trusting in my feelings, and I'm trusting God above, and I'm trusting you can give this baby all his mother's love..."
-From God's Arms to my arms' to yours

I love the whole song "Everything to me" by Mark Scholtz (sp?) He was adopted and he never had a chance to meet his birth mother, but he is so grateful for the life he was able to live because of her. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tqqj35r8aUc
That was a most amazing song and clip. Brought tears to my eyes .. thanks for posting it

The Gift of Life

I didn't give you the gift of life,
But in my heart I know.
The love I feel is deep and real,
As if it had been so.

For us to have each other
Is like a dream come true!
No, I didn't give you
The gift of life,
Life gave me the gift of you.

Amanda,

I love that song "From God's arms, to my arms, to yours". We have the CD and also gave it as a gift to my best friend and her husband when they began the adoption process. Can't listen to it without crying!
No Problem. My fellow Birth Mother in my support group showed me this because she is making a slide show using the song. EVERY TIME those both songs bring tears to my eyes. If you click on this link, its the story behind his song (its great!!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z61zdZJ9uZc
It reassures me that I KNOW despite what everyone says, I did follow my heart and it was the right choice for me.

During our birth mom dinner sponsored by FSA before Mother's Day we were handed out these CD's with chocolate at the end. I gave one to my adoptive couple because she showed up with "Bunny" and it was great. I'm glad she comes to those things, she supports me as a mother would, and I just wish everyone could have a bond like that.
I wrote the lyrics "from god's arms to my arms to yours" in the front of Bunny's journal I am keeping for her until she is older :)

People ask me. "What about gay adoptions? Interracial? Single Parent?" I say. "Hey fine, as long as it works for the child and the family is responsible." My big stand is this: Every child deserves a home and love. Period.

Somehow destiny comes into play. These children end up with you and you end up with them. It's something quite magical.
