yeah we are using a local agency.  We have had two change of hearts with them and started searching on our own while still working with them.

Our wait has been long.  We are currently approaching two years.  Anyone have any advice to help us find a birthmother.  We have done everything from a youtube video, a blog, twitter, and facebook pages.  Any other ideas and suggestions?

I just wanted to update you all that we adopted our 4th child.  Ella Jane was born on March 15, 2011.  Yes, it has taken me 3 months to sign on as we are crazy busy!  lol.  We are so blessed and thankful for our attorney for yet again providing us with yet another successful adoption.  I write this to all that are in waiting to have faith as you will get the baby that was meant to be in your life and it WILL happen.

Hello All,

My partner and I are the proud mommies of three children.  Our AA baby was adopted from birth and she is now 2 years old. We adopted an older son for my biological son.  SO, we have a 20 and 15 year old boys and a 2 year old girl.  We are expecting our fourth baby as our birth mother is due March 30.  We have open adoptions with all of our birth mothers.  I am 40 plus, and gay raising many races.  I laugh that their are so many different support groups to join due to our situation (Gay, Spanish and AA children, older and a tad bit crazy-lol).  However, our kids are doing great!!!!  Would love to chat with other mommies!

Congratulations Shannon and Amanda! Very exciting! My partner and I have adopted 3 daughters through foster care. We didn't have the opportunity to have dialogue with birth moms. Treasure the opportunity! Best Wishes! Amy

Hello!! We are Shannon and Amanda and we have just started the final leg of our adoption journey. We have ordered our birthmom letters and are waiting for them to arrive to go "live."
