Hi! Just joined this group although our Guatemalan adoption happened in 1986! My daughter turns 24 this week! She's an elementary school teacher. Years ago she spoke to a group of parents who'd recently adopted from Guatemala and were worried about how their children's ethnicity, adoption, etc., would impact their school years. My daughter wanted to meet with them so she could tell them "it's really no big deal" - she loved her school years!

Anyone here know a Melinda Silver? Met her dad a couple of months ago and he said she was very invovled in Guatemalan adoptions so I'd figure I'd ask here. Need some way to make contact with her. Thanks!

Every adoptee and adoptive parent approaches adoption issues differently. As our kids grow older it is even more important that we have established the foundation for discussing adoption. But, what happens as your child moves into tweens and into teens? Are YOU prepared to help them? A new e-mail class to help you support your adopted child begins soon. Space is limited.
