I have heard Holt is good as well. I have friends who used All God's Children, and have nothing but great things to say also. Both couples have their children home for almost 3 years.

Hi Wendy, I'm Russian and we also are pursuing a Ukraine adoption process. We participate in many agencies. But it has left - to know our record is getting slow to display on their page. With the Little Miracles International, Inc. (LMI) .They have a branch in Texas , This is link : - it will be easier for you. Although difficult time waiting for everyone (Parent Adoption and Birth-M). But I think we can overcome it.

Good Luck, Wendy.

For couples hoping to adopt - send me your pass along cards! I have a way to spread them nationwide! I am also sending our pass along cards (with others that are sent my way) with our Christmas cards this year. Email me at for contact info to send me your cards. Pass this message on to every single person you know who is looking to adopt! The more the merrier!

Sorry to hear about the set back Gabrielle. This waiting thing is the absolute worst thing about adoption. I just don't understand it, when there are children who need homes, why the huge wait? Very sad and frustrating, and we def. feel your pain!

Keep in mind that you employer has to justify not allowing your FMLA as an essential employee. FMLA is protected by the government for whatever that is worth. Also you can try requesting special accommodations from your HR department and again they have to justify not granting you don't have to justify allowing it. One of the many things about employment law I learned in my company sponsored training. Has come in handy a couple times including during our own adoption where I was able to work from home for 8 weeks after we brought our son home.

That is too bad that some companies just don't consider adoption to be like having a baby the traditional way. So family unfriendly! Well, keep us posted about the papers/travel dates! Very exciting!

Gabrielle, do you have an estimated travel date yet? I am lucky in that the company I work for actually has a pro adoption program that will give me $5,000 toward our adoption (once it is all complete). I will be taking a 3 month maternity leave also. My husband's company is not so understanding. He gets to take his two weeks vacation and that's it. I am not impressed. He will have to return back to work shortly after we return from the Philippines.
Anyone else have good/bad work stories they want to share?
