Hi, Michelle & Rob! It was very interesting to me to read the reason you are pursuing adoption vs. biological children as the method of building your family. That is the reason my husband and I pursued adoption--because I have a heart defect that would make pregnancy potentially fatal for baby and I. I hope all goes well for you! We just got matched. Who are you working with? I have a suggestion for you if you're open. If not, I understand. When you start adopting, everybody and their brother have all sorts of advice! :-)

Hi all. Just joined adoption voices. My husband and I are from NY. I was highly advised 2/12 years ago not to become pregnant due to a heart defect as the pregnancy/labor could result in death not just for me but the baby. We are doing domestic independent adoption and have been advertising for a year now. We just hope that this year will be our year.

As of April 26th, we are parents to a beautiful little girl. We ended up doing a private adoption through a lawyer in town because we got no where with our adoption agency after 4 years and no connections through them. Good luck everyone. We hope your dreams come true soon.

I have traded info with another woman and several other women from many boards. We have proven that the couple I have been talking with from Ardmore are NOT the couple using those same names scamming people. If you talk to a couple with the names from Oklahoma you can verify if they are the legitimate couple by the area code 580. Anything else is false.

I don't know, of course, if all is well with "Brandi & Keith", but another place you could check to be sure you aren't being scammed is www.adoptionscams.net/forum/YaBB.pl?board=domestic. I hope not. Might be worth checking out, though. Either way, I hope you are able to start your family soon!
