Not sure who is on her facebook but Maeghan had her twin girls yesterday. Keep her and her hubby in your thoughts. I'm sure this is a very emotional time for all involved. The girls are gorgeous <3

Yes Heather, I have. She has known me all her life because that is what I asked for and her parents were such fantastic people that they encouraged our relationship. I did everything I could to keep intouch and let her know that even though I chose to let her walk without me, she was always in my heart! Our friendship has been nothing short of wonderful and she even walked down the isle just before me at my wedding (Not a dry eye in the place when everyone saw her...then me! I wrote about that too, in another Happy Thought.) I wrote my book for her and my sons, but I actually sent her a copy for her graduation as a gift. She sent me a message and encouraged me to release the book to the world so that other kids would know that they were always wanted and loved by their mothers, but there are things that happen in life that sometimes lead us to make decisions that do not benefit us...but what we think is best for our children. It is a very unique story and I am proud of the relationship that we have...thank you for asking.

Michelle, Thank you for telling me this. I love to hear of others that have had wonderful open adoptions that lead to great relationships with their birth families. I hope you know just how happy you make her heart just accepting her for who she is! YOu are amazing, and again thank you for sharing your thoughts with me!

Kelsey, I am so happy to see someone else that has had a good experience with adoption. I am almost 28 years old and I grew up in an open adoption. My birth mother and I are best friend, and I am so thankful for the life I was given as a child and now as an adult having her in my life.

Kelsey, Have you had an ongoing relationship with your daughter up to this point? I"m sorry I don't know more of your background story.

Wrote a Happy Thought the other day that prompted my daughter to send me a message. I am proof that if you express what you feel, keep in touch with your children after adoption and make the best of what you have...then life comes back and kisses you sometimes! I really think that this can give some of you out there the hope that you need to believe in yourselves!

Yesterday I watched the Dr. Oz show for the first time because the topic was "Teen Sex Crisis: What every parent should know." I was intrigued because a friend told me he talked extensively about the choice of adoption with some teenagers, and I was shocked with the statistics that he shared! Not to mention, what he discovered about open adoption. Share your thoughts with me...

Adoption Match Book is brand spanking new (although I've been handling adoption through my law firm for 20 years!) so I am offering a free one year listing for for the first dozen (or so) who submit a listing. After those slots are filled, I will be charging a small fee to list a profile. Great time to take advantage something that is free!!!

Hi Linda!
Thanks for the update. Question for you, is there a fee associated with advertising on the Adoption Match Book site?
Thanks much!

Hi. I am looking for a family that is in the Indiana area. I am due in July. I am not going to make it all the way. I want an open adoption to where I can see my child.
