- I am an adoptee - who recently found her birth family AND an adoptive mother who is going through the journey of raising three foster adoptive children and one biological child and am recently pregnant with fifth child. It was through foster adoption we became a multicolored family. Transracial adoption wasn't something I planned on, it was something I was blessed with.

That is seems little bit of what my sister is doing...simular but I think from what I understand with the agency she is working with would be that a child could be placed in our home that would be possible up for adoption. So then that child (a girl would be want she'd want) would maybe be six months as a "foster" child and then the adoption part would proceed. Also she was told that the state (I think) pays like $365 or something like that a month for reimbursement for foster care. Also would cover day care. So that's pretty much what I understand right now. We'll know more when she takes the class in Sept. I'm going to go also.

- Hi Julie, I'm actually asking this for my sister who is doing the Kyrgyzstan adoption and also getting her license for foster care. A few questions: Once she has gone through the classes, etc and completed everything then what? So then when you do get a foster child...will they place that child with you in the terms that you might just adopt her/him? Also, what type of fee is involved...I think the state pays you $$ and also what about day care for those that can't stay home? There's just so much to know. Thanks. Mary
