Share a little about your adoption story
I am a transracial adoptee born in Detroit 2 weeks after the riots in '67. I was adopted by a white minister, his wife and three kids.
Our story is a story of prejudice, struggle and hope. I have recently finished my memoirs and am looking for ways to share our story to encourage others to adopt.

The talk at Wellesley went well. The students really enjoyed it. If you want to see the video check out our site. I just posted it.

I have not herd of The North American Council on Adoptable Children. I will check it out though. Hartford is very close to me and I could certainly attend!

Hey Kevin,

Hows it going? What did you think of the video? Did you ever end up posting it?

I wanted to let you know that this Wednesday at 5pm my adoptive mother and I are going to be sharing our story with a group of college kids. We will be streaming over the internet so you could watch if you are free.

The details of the event are here:

Kevin I was thinking of doing a Video/Post for you. I've done this a couple times where I do a video talking about everything and then type up the most important points.

As for the post its self. Maybe you could come up come with a couple of questions for me. Then I can answer them in the post. You can ask me anything really, I'm very open and I'll try to answer them best I can.

What do you think?

Yea I'd love to. Is there any topic you would like me to talk about? Or just my experience in general.

So they didn't have a lot of input from adoptees? That seams strange to me. That could a opportunity for speaking. I've seen a few people asking for the adoptee's perspective on this site so people seam interested.

Thats terrific. Best of luck with the book! My mother is working on a book about our adoption story.

What kind of speaking are you interested in doing? I'm sure there are plenty of opportunities to talk about your experiences.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help! I think it would be awesome to team up with another person to talk about this type of stuff.
