I am a transracial adoptee born in Detroit 2 weeks after the riots in '67. I was adopted by a white minister, his wife and three kids.
Our story is a story of prejudice, struggle and hope. I have recently finished my memoirs and am looking for ways to share our story to encourage others to adopt.
Hows it going? What did you think of the video? Did you ever end up posting it?
I wanted to let you know that this Wednesday at 5pm my adoptive mother and I are going to be sharing our story with a group of college kids. We will be streaming over the internet so you could watch if you are free.
Kevin I was thinking of doing a Video/Post for you. I've done this a couple times where I do a video talking about everything and then type up the most important points.
As for the post its self. Maybe you could come up come with a couple of questions for me. Then I can answer them in the post. You can ask me anything really, I'm very open and I'll try to answer them best I can.
So they didn't have a lot of input from adoptees? That seams strange to me. That could a opportunity for speaking. I've seen a few people asking for the adoptee's perspective on this site so people seam interested.
