- started adoption process for US infant adoption in July 2007- was approved and waiting by Sept 2007- we were selected by the 2nd birth mom that looked at our profile. It was Feb 2008 when we were chosen to be adoptive parents. Found out it was a girl- Sweet baby girl Emily was born April 16, 2008 and we were there for the birth. We have an open adoption. Most recently we are adopting our second child, same birth mother and she is due later this summer- We are very excited!
