Coming and raised up in Africa, I would like to say that Much has happened and we have adopted too much of foreign culture at the expense of some of our strong cultural values. I never grew up with my parents but in the village with my grand parents. I remember vividly how life was. we were so many of such grandchildren but one thing that stand out was the communal responsibility of raising children. In as much as we were to be staying with the grand parents, at the end of the day, that was just…See More
Born in 1972, i am married with two children. i started adoption six months into our marriage. so far we have stayed permenently with ten children and 30 have been through our house and have been able to find alternative homes.
it all started when we went to minister in one of the islands and we saw a young girl who was just by herself after two days of seeing her the same way, my wife went and talked with her and we learned that she was taken there by her aunt and damped there. she had been staying there a lone for about six months with no house, no proper clothing and even food to eat. we then brought her with us and started staying with her. we have seen the Lord do a lot in her and from there we started developing a heart for the destitute children. We are looking forward to start a children rehabilitation/ rescue center for abandoned and street children.

Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. As you can see I have been busy around this site as I am so grateful for a forum to be able to express all the complex emotions that go along with these adoptive situations. The waiting is very hard on us, and I hope that it will be over soon, but I know God has everything in his hands. My husband and I initially wanted to adopt an orphan, but I was scared of not having any parenting experience and jumping into an older child situation. We both want lots of kids, so I do believe that in our future our home will be filled with orphans and maybe from other countries too. I would be very interested to know more about what you do in Africa.. obviously you pastor a church! But what activities are you involved with? I ask because I am part of an orphan care group at my church, and one of our goals is to establish a relationship with an international orphanage and start helping in whatever way we can.
