Not a match

Well since I last posted we have been considered for a sibling group of 2 girls , were in the final choosing and then were not chosen. We have now recieved a new referal from the foster care system of a 3 year old biracial little boy with seizures and Pigeon toes. We have submitted our homestudy and are waiting to hear back. Keep us in your prayers that God will send the child or children that he intends for us.

Texas Adoption

I noticed in one of the groups that several of us have adopted in Texas due to their accomodating laws. This group can serve to help waiting parents and for us can be a place to get to know families with similar adoption experiences.See More

We tried for 12 years to have children doing all the infertility treatment things. Then my sister in law adopted a baby that a 13 year old she knew had. My mother in law told the lady that did her homestudy that my husband and I really needed some children and asked her to help us.lol
She called me, we did a homestudy and in about a month or two she called us to look at a profile. We were hoping for an infant (like most other people). The profile turned out to be a 9 and 5 year old sibling girl pair. They had been shuffled around foster homes in Texas because the youngest had severe special needs, mental retardation, inablility to communicate, not potty trained, shaken baby syndrome, and mild cerebal palsey. She would tantrum and bang her head on anything and couldn't be soothed. We read the profile and the 9 year old was asked what she wanted in an adoptive family. She said that the only thing she wanted was someone who would be good to her little sister and love her and that it didn't matter how they treated her as long as they were good to her sister. Well we prayed about it and felt led that these were our girls. It was scarey at first of course but I think God placed them in our lives for a purpose. Crystal (now 6) has just made amazing progress. She can answer yes or no, take her plate to the sink, make decisions, shows affection and interacts with others, and can turn the tv on and off. She was not very interactive when she came home so this is tremendous progress. She knew 3 words and now she knows about 30 when she wants to say them and is starting to recognize concepts like hot. Amber our now 10 year old has done awesome and was on the all A honor roll for the first time this year . We are all so pround of her. They have been home since Feb 2008. What a wonderful Journey. We are now in the process of looking for another adoption match so remember us in your prayers. God bless.

The Wait

Okay so we are waiting for an adoption match again. We recieved information on a 18 month old with a lot of medical issues and submitted our homestudy for him. We are praying for God's will in this matter. I just hate the waiting for staffing to see if we are chosen. The waiting drives me nuts. Anyway. If this dosen't work out we are considering looking for a sibling group again or another daughter around age 10 so she would be close in age to our oldest Amber. Did I mention that I hate the… Continue
