What would you do if your file was lost and you could NEVER verify or find out non-identifying information on your birthparents???????

That's awful! I can't imagine that happening to someone. But I'm sure it has at one point in time. What would you do? I think I would gather all the info I could get whether it was verified or not an…

Adoptees in closed adoptions, have you met your birth parents?

Yes I am searching. I am not sure whether or not I want to meet them. I guess I just want to know for my own piece of mind. Searching is a very emotional state. When I search I get sad because I can'…

Share a little about your adoption story
Was adopted at 3 days old thru private adoption. My adoptive parents loved me very very much. But they are now both deceased. I have had medical issues pop up and am now searching for my birth family. I always felt different even though there was great effort to not make me be so. I think the greatest gift you can give anyone is a gift from yourself. I was blessed with great parents. Being adopted is being different no matter what parents do. There is always a little voice inside of you that asks who are you. You always wonder when you are in the mall if that's the one or look for people that look like you. It is a very strange feeling. For example I have a dark complexion, I didn't know I was white until I got my non ID information. I am 50 years old and always wondered. I had to read it several times. WOW! Someday I want to have a house where children that are older and can't be adopted out as easy as babies can live there. That's on my wish list along with finding information about my birth family.

children in need here

I think it is a shame the way some movie stars ect. have a big deal made out of their adopting children from overseas. What happened to those children here that need homes? How about those foster children who want a family so bad? Why in the world can't they seem to see that? I know these questions will never really have answers. But gosh darn it, it really makes me mad. There are so many kids out there that need homes and so few homes. I'm not trying to be mean but don't you have to take of you… Continue

Hi, I am usually very busy running three search and support groups. However, when I saw this group, I wanted to check it out. I am glad I did. I always want to make sure that if anyone , needs search help, that they know how to get help. We have parents, adoptees, siblings, and adoptive parents that come to our sites, looking for help. We also get friends of people who assist them, and we help them too.

Nice to meet you.

Wonderful! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!!! :o) LOL! I should have spell checked my comment...googling "search angles" versus "angels" wouldn't have helped!! Again...wishing you all the luck in the world!

Hi Shannon! Welcome to this site! I read that you were looking for your birthfamily...I wish you the best of luck on your search. If you haven't already, google "search angles." There is a network of people that will help you in your search efforts...free. It is simply their wish to help anyone touched by adoption in their search for information. GOOD LUCK!! Warmly, Heather
