Is a adoptive parent held to the same standerds a biological parent is? The answer schould be yes, but it is not. Homestudies, backround checks and a lot of money lets anyone adopt. The interest of the child is what  comes first.  It took 16ms to finalize my adoption in 74 to a set of middle class parents. They adopted me at the age of 5. It would be 3yrs later someone would report the abuse. When cps left I just got beat again. The answer to this was just give me back, and everything will go away. For them it did. Me 9yrs old coming out of a abusive lifestyle made thing hard for me to be placed.

I am 42 and can look back now and says the system failed me. I lived in numerouse homes. i had 2 babies before 18. I never felt safe unless I was in a relationship, and when I wasn't I couldn't surive. I lost my son to cps. Not for abuse or the fact I was a drug user. I just had nobody to help me. My son is 18 now and I one day hope to find him.
