children in need here
I think it is a shame the way some movie stars ect. have a big deal made out of their adopting children from overseas. What happened to those children here that need homes? How about those foster children who want a family so bad? Why in the world can't they seem to see that? I know these questions will never really have answers. But gosh darn it, it really makes me mad. There are so many kids out there that need homes and so few homes. I'm not trying to be mean but don't you have to take of your own first. It's great that overseas children are being adopted. I want them to have homes too. But for Pete's sake how about the children who live on

Comment by Cynthia Campbell on March 27, 2010 at 8:35pm - What people do not realize about many of the children available for adoption is this : because many of these children have been through sexual abuse they must be either the youngest child or only child in the family. That would disqualify many families that are wanting to adopt children . The next thing is this: a great percentage of children available for adoption are African American teenagers and children with severe special needs. Most adopting couples are Caucasions and are wanting to adopt young children . Other children have severe emotional needs or have behavioral problems that families may not feel that they are able to solve their problems . Parents that are fostering a child that becomes available for adoption will be considered first for that child. So in reality the children available for adoption in the U. S. do not fit the criteria that families feel they are able to parent .
