I'm Heather and I have been considering adoption for about 2 years now. I haven't been lucky enough to find the right man to be my husband and a father to our children. I started pursuing adoption in 2008. Being a single woman, I know that many will disqualify me right away . In some ways I can understand this but I have so much love to give to a child and I am everyone's favorite "aunt" around here. I even have a room just for all the kids that come to visit and stay at my house. I have been picky about who I will date and/or marry so that I have a good husband who will be a good father. No luck yet.
I'm 36... and I work in higher education. I was a Spanish and English teacher for 7 years prior to working at colleges. I also teach English as a Second Language and CPR/First Aid classes as ways to give back to my community. I have been an educator my whole life and currently teach GED and English as a Second Language
I live in South Central PA and I have a small but very supportive and close-knit family who would love to add another child to it. I am very supportive of open adoption since I can't imagine giving up my child and now knowing how he or she grew up. I am also very honest when talking to people about my life. I am not perfect and will not just give you the answers you want, but the truth, whether it be good, bad or ugly.
I recently went through a failed adoption. I worked with a women who was due in September 2009. The baby came early and suddenly the father cared so we had to play a waiting game. The BM became attached, of course, and couldn't give up the baby. I am still very close to her and all 4 of her children It was the most difficult thing I have ever been through but I'm hoping to get lucky and find someone else who will give me the chance to be a mommy. . I still really want to adopt. I am home study ready and my family is waiting to add one more miracle to it.
I am good trying to stay busy, and can not believe that it is almost the 4th of July, as it just started to warm up in mn.. My job does give me the freedom to bring a baby with me as I have been helping a friend out with her baby sense he was born in January. There

Hello Heather! I found my birth mother using a private investigator. The cost was 700 dollars, but it was 700 dollars well spent. It's been a week since we met, and it's been great. She's been proceeding in telling her children about me, and we are due to meet this coming thursday. Things are going great, and for the first time in my life I feel complete. She has contacted my birth fathers family and I am due to meet them sometime soon. I don't think I could have asked for a better Xmas present. The private investigator was very efficient and she found her within the three days after I sent her my non-identifying information that I had acquired from DSS. But that's my story in a nutshell. If anyone has any questions or need advice or anything please do feel free to contact me. I plan on updating my profile about once a week. Thanks for all of your support.
