"I actually had a horrible adoption situation, but that's a different story. I do understand the feeling of I guess it would be betrayal of my adopted parents keeping secrets from me. When I was 14, I accidently found some of my adoption papers.…"

"Hi, thanks for your point of view, which is great. I think that my personal situation is not one that could be considered normal, for many reasons, and  by saying this i do not wish to disrespect the situations of others. In my mind, a real…"

MYV Vasquez replied to redhillchris79's discussion Can Adoption Parents be considered REAL Parents ????
"Yes they are your real parents because they do all the real work required in parenting. Sometimes people get confused when I talk about my two different families (adopted and birth). They will stop me and ask me if I'm referring to my adopted…"

"I don't know what the term Real Parents means, as I am pretty sure there are no imaginary parents out there.  But if you are looking for the definition of parent - then that is a  broad spectrum.  A parent is defined as one who…"

" I am so sorry for what you must be going through. As an adoptive mom myself, I think it is most important that an adopted child grow up knowing he/she is adopted.  I think in the past adoption was handled differently and not as open as it…"

Share a little about your adoption story
I was adopted after 15 days as my mother was too young and was forced into believing by her doctor, which was mine too thereafter, that i would be best with another family. This was 32 years ago. I have met my birthmother and my sister in November in a beautiful meeting, which my wife and 6 month old baby boy attended too. I live in Spain and she lives in Scotland, but we met in England, where we are originally from. After being adopted, I lived in South East England near to where i was born. It turns out that i lived underneath my mothers nose without either me nor her knowing so. I found out about being adopted thrpough a 3rd person here in Spain back in 1999 or 2000, but still have not been officially told by my adoption parents my story. I think that they have always run away from the truth through cowardness or fear, expecting my life to run fluidly and never know what is my right to know.
